When I was a child, the festive season Deepavali seemed to take forever to come. Now i am 21 and all have changed. Since i am to busy with my work and studies, deepavali would end way too quickly when it came .
This year, several days before the Deepavali celebrations, I clean my house as tasks were already being explained to me by my mum and my devil sister "miou". Half asleep, I walked across the cold linoleum covered floor and found a place to sleep again. Hahax. I did a pretty good job this year, such as rolling the muruku and achi muruku, prepare nei urudai. My mum was surprise seeing it cause this is the first year i helped her. :P
This is muruku...yum yum...
My mum mixed large quantities of rice flour, omam, siragam to make muruku, a savory Indian snack for all the guests we expected on Deepavali this year. This year my sister didnt made any cookies cause i bought it all from my office staff, and its a good one which I have ever tasted.
This year i bought alot of dress and punjabi suits then i expected to buy.
This are the list of it:
3 punjabi suit
3 dress
2 sandles
1 nighty
3 office wear suit
1 set of bangles
1 set of earings
Alot rite...Dont be jealous of me...:P
Back to Deepavali...
On Deepavali day, my house would be “open”, only for breakfast. Chicken curry and mutton curry, a compulsory dish for Deepavali, is a mouth watering dish made with many aromatic spices and pieces of largely chopped potatoes. Overeating is inevitable as the dining table would be laid out with a great variety of dishes, from chicken curry, tosai, idli, idiyapam, to an array of cookies. And i have to tell this, when it comes about cooking, my mum is the best and my sister is really good.
This year my brother and his wife will be celebrating their deepavali at his wife's house. Thats what we call "Thale Deepavali". So i gonna miss him so much. :(
Early in the morning of deepavali, my sweet Charles Patti (Amulu Patti) and her family will come to have their breakfast and celebrate deepavali together with us. They are the only one family who comes to my house every year. After that, we will be having our short nap...ZzzzzZzZZzZ...
At nightfall, my mom will bring out the fire crackers and the family would gather to light them and play them together.
This is how my Deepavali festival goes every year...
I take this opportunity to wish all my friends and family,
Hope the festival of lights enlightens your home and heart with peace and serenity. Wishing you loads of joy and happiness, on Deepavali. Happy Deepavali Folks!
